OUR STORY
Founded in late 2024 by CEO Ryan Wager, Anava.ai is named for his two daughters, Ana and Ava, a reminder of why responsible, transformative technology matters. After years of developing ACAP applications for Axis cameras and exploring cloud‑based Multi‑Modal AI, Ryan built a prototype that ran entirely on the device itself.
In November 2024, he partnered with longtime colleague Matt Ebben, who now leads business strategy, and together they assembled a world‑class team to debut Anava.ai at ISC West 2025 in Las Vegas. The enthusiastic reception proved one thing: the world is ready for true edge AI that doesn’t compromise on power or flexibility.

Anava is delivered as an ACAP application that installs directly on your Axis camera’s management interface. Simply enter your API key for the AI of your choice, answer a few setup questions, and you’re analyzing frames in seconds. Supported on any Axis device running OS 11.9 (and many older models), our solution is optimized for ARTPEC 7/8/9 and CV25 chipsets, with roadmap support extending to every camera in your fleet.
